Lucas Playing Football

Earlier this week Lucas took one of his footballs to school so that he could play with it at recess. He came home and told me that he had his BYU football and one of his friends also had a BYU football that he also brought to school. Then he told me this story. "I played football with my friends. It was me and Kaden against Dillon and Zeke and Body. My team was the Austin Collie BYU team and Dillon's team was the John Beck BYU team. Kaden and I won. Can you believe that? It was two against three and we won!" I replied, "Really? Why do you think you won?" (I asked this thinking that Dillon was at home telling his mom how he won the football game at recess.) Lucas said, "Because I told Kaden, fake a pass and I'll run a fade route, then throw me the football. So Kaden faked a pass and then threw me the ball. I caught it and ran. I didn't have a touchdown yet but I stopped and turned to Dillon and said, look at me Dillon. Then Dillon came after me, I ran, and I got a touchdown." He finished his story and happily went to do something else. He was so serious and it just made me laugh. Here he is, six years old, telling me about faking passes and running fade routes. I love it. I do have to say thank you to Uncle Scott and Uncle David who have spent time with him teaching him about football. He loves playing with you whether it's here in our family room or in Idaho in the front yard!

NOTHING Happening

The last few days I've been thinking about posting something on here but I just don't have anything to post. There has been nothing going on in our lives that is exciting. Bryan is working, I'm working at home, Lucas is back on track (that is good news), and Ty is doing fine. Actually, Ty is finally sleeping through most nights. He wakes up around one and I let him cry for a while to see if he goes back to sleep. I guess he is because I'm going back to sleep and I wouldn't if he was crying too hard. I'm too much of a wimp to let him cry for a long time and it doesn't work for me to go in there and calm him down. Instead of calming him down he gets more upset. So keep your fingers crossed that he keeps sleeping so well. I guess it's good that I have no news, good or bad. It means we're happy overall!

Learning to Walk

This weekend Ty surprised us by taking his first steps! Unfortunately by the time we got the video camera out his legs were tired and he could only stand there. It is fun though to see him learning. Lucas took his first steps at 9 1/2 months and was walking well by 10 1/2 months so we didn't think Ty could beat that. But Ty is 8 1/2 months and so now we'll see if he learns quickly or decides to crawl first.
